If you came from a background where your voice was taking away. A background where as a child, you were permitted to be seen, but not heard. A background where your self esteem was badly injured and punctured. A background where you were abused and treated worse than an animal.

You will likely grow up to see people who are confident in themselves, as arrogant people.

You will likely grow up to see boldness as pride.

You will likely grow up thinking that, the meaning of humility is to be voiceless.

You will likely grow up thinking that, having a voice or speaking up or standing up for yourself is a sin.

I always tell parents this:

One of the best gifts you can give to your children is, healthy self esteem.

A foolish confident person, will succeed more than a wise timid fellow.
