Ngozi discovered the old box while cleaning her grandmother’s attic. It was small, wooden, and locked with a rusted latch. After searching for hours, she found the key hidden inside a dusty book. Inside the box were letters, dozens of them written in careful handwriting. They told the story of a love she had never known about, a secret romance her grandmother had kept hidden for decades. As Ngozi read each letter, she felt closer to the woman she thought she knew. The final letter ended abruptly, with no explanation. Determined to find answers, Ngozi asked her grandmother, who smiled softly and said, “Some stories are meant to remain unfinished.” Yet in that moment, Ngozi understood that love does not always need closure to be real.
