Real Madrid survive Inter scare to open their Champions League campaign with three points.
José Mourinho’s return to Europe with Madrid started with a win, but this was far from a comfortable night at the Bernabéu.
THE GAME
Inter started brightly and created early opportunities, but Madrid were ruthless when chances came.
Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring in the 14th minute after a defensive mistake from Inter, with Brahim Díaz providing the assist.
Just nine minutes later, another Inter error allowed Fede Valverde to make it 2-0.
Madrid had the advantage, but Inter continued to control large parts of the game and forced Thibaut Courtois into several important saves.
