At least 17 Christians have been killed in Plateau State since mid-July, following a wave of violent attacks by armed Fulani herdsmen. The latest incident occurred on August 4th in Njin village, where several homes were set ablaze, leaving many residents displaced and traumatized.

Eyewitnesses reported that the attackers stormed the community in the dead of night, opening fire on villagers and torching houses. Local sources also allege that the herdsmen have now occupied parts of the land abandoned by fleeing residents, raising fears of further displacement and insecurity.

The attacks add to a growing list of deadly assaults across the region, where tensions over land, ethnicity, and religion have continued to fuel violence for years.
