The Farmington New Mexico Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is now open for public tours, beginning July 17 through August 2, 2025, excluding Sundays. Located at 4400 College Boulevard in Farmington, the temple is the second in the state of New Mexico, following the Albuquerque temple. It was announced by President Russell M. Nelson on April 4, 2021 and its groundbreaking took place on April 30, 2022.

The temple spans approximately 29,000 square feet and sits on a 6.6-acre site. It is a single-story structure built with Portuguese white granite and surrounded by bronze fencing and landscaped with regional plants. The interior reflects Native American design influences, including feather patterns, chevrons, stepped pyramids and floral motifs like globe mallow and piñon pinecone. Elegant materials such as Murano glass, crystal, brass, and finely woven fabrics are also featured throughout the sacred space.

Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will dedicate the temple on August 17, 2025. The open house offers a rare opportunity for the general public to tour the interior before it is dedicated and becomes accessible only to members of the Church in good standing. The temple will serve members in the Four Corners region, including Native American and Spanish-speaking communities.

Local leaders and church officials have praised the project for its beauty, spiritual significance, and community impact. The temple’s construction provided local jobs and involved artisans and contractors from the area. For many residents, it represents a beacon of faith, peace, and cultural unity.
