Open Discussion On : Shared Friendship In Marriage Based On Different Denomination View (S3).
Orthodox Christian View
Belief on Marriage:
The Orthodox Church sees marriage as a path to holiness, unity, and spiritual growth.
View on Friendship:
Orthodox teachings often speak of marriage as a “martyria” (witness) and “askesis” (spiritual training), but also highlight mutual love and respect.
While friendship is not always emphasized as a separate concept, deep companionship is seen as essential to lasting unity.
An Orthodox Christian might say: “Marriage is about growing together into one soul friendship helps us do that.”
