At one point in her life, Tega was the woman many whispered about but never truly knew. She lived behind shadows, an elegant presence in private circles, always dressed right, always smiling. But behind the charm and beauty was a life she knew was never hers to keep.

For six years, Tefa was involved in a relationship with a wealthy, married man. To the world, she seemed successful, but behind closed doors, she battled guilt, fear and emptiness.

Her turning point came one Sunday morning. Out of restlessness, she walked into a small local church near her apartment just to “clear her mind,” as she put it, what she found was more than peace. It was truth.

“The message that morning wasn’t even about immorality,” she recalls. “It was about God’s love, how nothing we do can separate us from it and how grace is still available no matter how far we’ve gone.”

That service led to more visits. Slowly, her heart began to shift. She started reading the Bible, praying again and cutting ties that once held her hostage. The man she once depended on emotionally and financially tried to pull her back, but Tefa stood firm.

“I wasn’t walking away because I became holy overnight. I walked away because I saw myself the way God sees me: forgiven, loved and worth more than being someone’s secret.”

Today, Tefa volunteers at a women’s ministry, mentoring girls who are battling low self-worth, brokenness and difficult choices. She often shares her story, not for attention, but to show that no one is ever too lost for redemption.

“I used to be ashamed,” she says. “But now, I speak because I want others to know that Jesus can change your story; just like He changed mine.”
