A group of women in Benue State on Wednesday stormed the Government House in Makurdi, decrying the persistent killings by suspected herders and bandits in their communities.
The women carried placards with various inscriptions urging President Bola Tinubu to end banditry, among others, in the state.

Other inscriptions appreciated the president for identifying with them.
The women also sang dirges in their local dialect and expressed their anguish over the worsening security situation that has left many displaced and widowed.
One of their chants, loosely translated into English, which means, “We can’t go to our farms; if we go, they will kill us. Please come to our rescue.”
