The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has confirmed that it will commence the direct supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to selected states across Nigeria beginning September 15, 2025.

According to the company, this initial phase of distribution will cover 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), marking a major step towards addressing fuel supply challenges in the country.

The refinery will directly supply petrol to the following states:

Lagos

Ogun

Oyo

Ondo

Osun

Ekiti

Abuja (FCT)

Edo

Rivers

Delta

Kwara

These states were chosen based on their proximity to the refinery’s location, ease of logistics, and high demand for petroleum products.

Industry analysts say the move is expected to ease pressure on supply chains, reduce fuel scarcity in major cities, and stabilize pump prices by cutting off middlemen and minimizing transportation costs.

While the first phase targets 11 states, Dangote Refinery has stated that it will gradually expand its distribution network to reach other parts of the country. The company emphasized that its long-term goal is to ensure nationwide access to locally refined fuel, thereby reducing Nigeria’s reliance on imports.
