President Tinubu is not a court of law and certainly not the judiciary. The best assistance Gov. Otti can offer his convicted brother is to advise him to remain a law-abiding prisoner for now and seek redress through the proper legal channels.

If there are grounds for appeal, let it be taken to the upper courts. Nigeria is governed by law. Justice is not negotiated in private meetings, nor reversed by presidential courtesy.

The courtroom remains the only place where convictions are tested and overturned.
