Nkechi Rhodes-Vivour, mother of Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Lagos, is dead.
The 2023 Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate announced his mother’s passing in a statement shared on X on Monday.
“With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (Nee Waboso),” the statement reads.
“A loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. The epitome of Love. She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace. Funeral arrangements will be announced shortly.”

Nkechi came into the spotlight during the 2023 election campaign, when she played an active role in mobilising support for her son.
After the election, she alleged widespread vote buying and accused security agencies of failing to apprehend the perpetrators.
