The Presidency has disowned the purported appointment of one Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi under the auspices of an organisation identified as the "Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council," describing the claim as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, the government said it had become aware that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi was presenting himself to members of the public as having been appointed by the Office of the Chief of Staff.

According to the statement, Gbajabiamila clarified that no such office exists under the administration of President Bola Tinubu and that no appointment has been made in connection with any organisation bearing that name.

The statement urged members of the public to disregard any representation suggesting the existence of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council or any appointment linked to it.

It also advised foreign and diplomatic missions, financial and multilateral institutions, development organisations, security agencies and other stakeholders to take note of the disclaimer and exercise caution in their dealings.

The Presidency reaffirmed that the alleged appointment has no official backing and cautioned against recognising or engaging with individuals making such claims.
