The Lagos state police command says its operatives have arrested 150 suspects during coordinated raids on criminal hideouts in Boolar, Okofilling Bus Stop, Igando, and other identified black spots within the Area M, Idimu axis of the state..

In a statement on Monday, Abimbola Adebisi, the command’s spokesperson, said the operation was carried out as part of the ongoing ‘Operation Ko S’Aye’, aimed at flushing out hoodlums and other criminal elements terrorising the area.

“Exhibits recovered include one hundred (100) unregistered motorcycles, fifty-four (54) mobile phones, one (1) double-barrel gun, two (2) single-barrel guns, one (1) locally made double-barrel short gun, two (2) military camouflage uniforms, assorted charms, six (6) generators suspected to have been stolen, substances suspected to be Indian-hemp and various quantities of illicit drugs,” the statement reads.

“All the suspects are currently in Police custody, while investigations are ongoing to determine their individual culpability.

“Those found to have committed criminal offences will be charged to court accordingly.”

Adebisi added that Tijani Fatai, commissioner of police in Lagos, commended the operatives for their “professionalism and dedication to duty.”

Fatai reaffirmed the command’s commitment to the continued implementation of ‘Operation Ko S’Aye’, adding that the operation would be sustained across the state to deny criminals any safe haven and ensure the safety and security of residents.

He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information that will assist the police in identifying criminal hideouts, apprehending offenders, and enhancing public safety across Lagos state.
