An SUV accidentally drove into a barbed electric wire barricade in Abuja during a protest calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

The incident occurred in the Nigerian capital amid demonstrations demanding the freedom of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

According to reports, the electrified wire was set up by security forces to block the road and prevent protesters from advancing.

Video footage captured the moment the SUV drove straight into the wire, as onlookers and protesters screamed in shock. Police officers nearby quickly alerted the driver and passengers to remain inside the vehicle while they rushed to disconnect the electricity source to prevent electrocution.

The tense scene unfolded amid escalating clashes between protesters and security forces. Police had reportedly fired teargas at the crowd and arrested several demonstrators, including Kanu’s lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor. Federal authorities had earlier warned against holding protests near sensitive government areas, citing an existing court order.
