The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG), USA, has officially opened applications for its 2026 Scholarship Awards. The organization plans to award 111 one-time scholarships to female undergraduate students currently enrolled in Nigerian universities.
The scholarships will be distributed across the country, with three awards allocated per State of Origin, as well as three for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Winner: Three Hundred U.S. Dollars ($300)
1st Runner-up: One Hundred and Fifty U.S. Dollars ($150)
2nd Runner-up: One Hundred U.S. Dollars ($100)
All awards will be disbursed in the Naira equivalent.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a female undergraduate student in a Nigerian University.
Not open to final-year students.
Application Documents
Interested applicants must submit the following documents along with their completed application form:
Proof of State of Origin: A letter of origination from the university or from a local government office.
Two Letters of Recommendation: From any two of the following: Pastor/Imam, Village Head, Local Government Chairperson, or University Lecturer/Head of Department.
Academic Recommendation: One letter of recommendation from the Dean of Faculty or School Head of Department.
Identification: Photocopy of current University student ID card.
Photography: A current passport photograph.
Personal Statement: An explanation (not more than half a typed page) on why you need and should receive the scholarship.
Essay Submission: A two-page, double-spaced, type-written essay on the specified topic.
Essay Topic & AI Policy
Topic: "How can Nigeria harness renewable energy and sustainable practices to create jobs and drive economic growth?"
Important: Applicants may use AI tools for up to 25% of their essay submission. The remaining 75% must reflect original ideas and voice. Excessive AI use may result in disqualification.
