The South-West leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has been very vocal this week.
The Issue:
Worsening electricity on campuses. NANS warned the Federal Government on March 26 that it would mobilize for "mass action" if the blackout in university communities continues.
It’s not just about study time; students are complaining about the rising cost of charging phones and laptops at "business centers," with some paying up to ₦200 per charge. NANS also called out "exploitative landlords" who are hiking rents while providing zero electricity.
