According to the Commission, the operation was carried out in Agbede community, Ilorin—not on the school campus—and had no connection with the protest.
During the raid on March 24, 2026, 30 suspected internet fraudsters were arrested, including six students of the polytechnic who were confirmed to be involved.
The EFCC also recovered vehicles, phones, and laptops believed to be proceeds of crime.
The agency stressed that no part of the institution was entered and no school activities were disrupted, describing any link between the protest and the operation as false and misleading.
