The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) is set to reach another major academic milestone as it hosts its 123rd Inaugural Lecture on Thursday, March 26, 2026. This event continues the university’s long-standing tradition of providing a platform for newly appointed professors to showcase their research contributions to the global academic community and the Nigerian public.

The lecture, titled “Reviving the Comatose Arteries and Blood of the Nigerian Economy: An Inescapable Route to Sustainable National Development,” will be delivered by Professor Joel Ademola Ojekunle, a distinguished scholar in the Department of Logistics and Transport Technology. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (MNITP), Professor Ojekunle is expected to use a multidisciplinary lens to address the critical bottlenecks in Nigeria’s transport systems. His discourse is particularly timely, as it focuses on the "arteries" of the nation—its logistics and supply chains—which are vital for economic resurgence and the success of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The event will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta, and is scheduled to take place at the 1000-Seater Capacity Auditorium on the Main Campus in Gidan Kwano. Starting at 10:00 a.m., the gathering will bring together academics, industry stakeholders, and government officials to discuss evidence-based solutions for national development. This lecture follows the 121st and 122nd editions held earlier in the 2025/2026 session, reinforcing FUT Minna’s reputation as a leading center for technological innovation and strategic policy advocacy in Nigeria.
